Foot Ulcers: Causes & Treatment

Foot Ulcer is an open sore that resulted from excessive & prolonged pressure by bearing too much weight than they are designed for — most commonly the ball of the foot, heel, or the base of the 5th metatarsal.

Why Ulcers Develop

W/out proper orthotics, the Tarsal joint keeps falling w/ each step & the arch part (that is designed to bear 75% of the weight that falls to the bottom of the foot) cannot bear weight. This not only stresses the  the ball of the foot & the heel areas w/ excessive weight but also w/ friction on those areas against the shoe insole as the arch elongates each step. Overtime, these excessive pressure & friction can break down the skin, even callused skin, in those areas & start developing ulcers. & people w/ damaged nerves (neuropathy) due to diabetes or other reasons don’t feel pain even the ulcers keep worsening . Also, when the low lateral arch falls completely, the ulcer can happen at the base of the 5th metatarsal bone.

Treatment

Feet Balance Orthotics Realign the Fallen Tarsal joint & Tilted anklebones & Keep the Arch from falling, & make the entire foot bottom, including the arch part, to bear the weight. This Reduces pressure on the heel & ball of the foot areas & stops the friction against shoe insole; as a result, no more breakdown of skin. Also, utilizing the entire foot bottom for weight-bearing promots blood circulation at the bottom of the foot that is critical for healing.

For best results: Using cushions over the orthotics to reduces ground reaction force at the foot bottom & massaging gently around the ulcer stimulate circulation for faster healing.

Maintain regular foot inspections if you have diabetes or nerve damage.

Just know until you align your fallen tarsal joints & tilted Anklebones, no foot & major joint problems won’t be healed properly. Because for nay part of our body to heal properly, the joints should be aligned first.

Feet Balance Orthotics Eliminate the Root Cause of Ulcer (the excessive pressure on the heel & ball of the foot by distributing the weight throughout the entire foot bottom). As a result, the ulcer can be prevented, managed, & improved.
